Boyfriends in the Globe & Mail!

What an amazing thing to have happen:
I was interviewed for the Globe & Mail Small Business Section!!

No amount of bolding and exclamation marks can show how excited and grateful I am. Thank you to the lovely Shelby Walsh for somehow finding me, and to my great friend Sarah for taking some lovely photos of me and my workspace. Shelby contacted me a few weeks ago and I am so happy it is finally up for the world to see!

Here’s Shelby’s introduction (which I just love):

Hannah Browne has helped many clients celebrate loved ones and get over the heartbreak. Her personality-packed felt pins, portraying ‘celebrities’ like The Fresh Prince, Ron Burgundy and even ‘custom’ boyfriends, encourage people to wear their hearts on their chests.

Whether it’s a long-time lover, someone on Tinder, or a famous crush, she’ll handcraft a brooch to make ladies (and fellas!) feel like they’re on Cloud 9. Her pins retail from $15 to $40.

One of a Kind Show Roundup

On the first day, sitting behind my fully stocked booth!

Hey! I’ve finally had the chance to sit down and write about the amazing One of a Kind Spring Show I was so lucky to be a part of.

Quite a few lovely things came out of this show:

  • Many new and returning customers visited my table, laughing and smiling.
  • My little brooch lads got lots of exposure on blogs around the interweb (including Swallow Daily and The Art of Doing Stuff)
  • I received offers to participate in other craft shows
  • I got to meet some wonderful and talented Etsy sellers (seriously, everyone in the Etsy section was so talented it hurt!)
  • I was able to purchase some new things for myself from artisans I love.
  • I made a new friend – Lizzi, owner and one of the creative ladies behind Little Minnow Designs from Austin Texas!

The best thing: my brooches were on TV! They were featured on Canada AM’s One of a Kind spot (Thursday March 27th), and I was interviewed for the Space channel’s Innerspace, which aired Friday March 28th!

All in all, I had an amazing 5 days. I’m so thankful to the One of a Kind team and Etsy Canada for allowing me to be a part of this amazing show, and hopefully my brooches will be back there again for Spring 2015.

On a semi-related note, some exciting new developments will be coming soon  – stay tuned!

Press: National Boyfriend Day

So apparently yesterday was National Boyfriend Day. Who knew? …maybe I should have?

Regardless, I received a lovely message from Suzy, the woman who runs Daily Holiday Blog, to tell me she has featured my Trendy Moustache Boyfriend on her ‘Boyfriends Day’ post. How neat! Check it out here.

Thanks Suzy!
